APAP Conference NYC 2010 Program Contributions

Topics of Interest

The APAP Conference NYC 2010 professional development sessions will be organized within three primary tracks identified by the conference committee, under which a range of topics and issues will be addressed. We encourage artists, agents/managers, presenters and other sectors of our membership to actively participate across the track areas.

Based on your current priorities and needs, please identify for one or all of the following track areas, burning issues or questions you would like to explore as part of the conference program. Please note that we wish to include a focus on current issues and trends that cross-over all conference track areas, e.g. global international content and context, climate change and greening, changing roles across sectors of our membership, ensuring intergenerational participation, breaking down barriers to the participation of artists. [Please list questions or phrases to describe the issue to be addressed - 300 words or less please]

  1. Artists and Their Work (how work is getting made and presented in today's environment).
  2. Participant Powered – Co-creating the Experience (new paradigms for community and audience engagement).
  3. Bold Business Moves in the Field (re-thinking the business side of presenting and touring).

Suggested Speakers, Facilitators, and/or Discussants

Please identify individuals (including artists!) you would like to recommend to contribute their expertise or experience to the conference program based upon the topics of interest listed above. Please limit your suggestions to 5 individuals (this may include yourself), listed in the following format. Note: We will not consider recommendations that are about product or artist promotion (for those opportunities, see APAP exhibit guidelines).

Name, title, affiliation (contact information not necessary), specific area of expertise or accomplishment(s) pertinent to a given topic of interest.
