Participants will learn how organization leaders are applying the concept of resilient thinking and related strategies to guide the governance of their organizations through tough times. How are presenting organizations faring in the current economic downturn? What do board members need to know and be prepared to do to help staff and stakeholders meet both short and long-term goals for success? These sessions will engage participants in solution-oriented dialogue with executive staff, board members, and consultants who have demonstrated effective strategies and practice to identify and meet goals in today's uncertain environment. Saturday, January 9Get On Board: The Presenting Field in Context [Board Series Registrants Only] (3:00 - 5:00pm)Consider the critical success factors of an effectively managed and governed presenting organization in the context of issues and concerns expressed by your peers from volunteer boards of directors across the country. What are the stress factors, challenges and opportunities driving the management and governance of presenting organizations and other sectors of Arts Presenters' membership in our changing socio-economic climate? This session will address ways in which administrators from leading presenting organizations are thinking and strategizing about quality and sustainability in our changing cultural climate.
